Self Care Sunday

This post is brought to you by what I have noticed quite often with my guests who come in to the studio.  Cleansing and how many of my lady guests do not know how to properly cleanse their skin.  Sounds silly that I am even blogging about this.

Keeping your cleanser in the shower isn't a good idea.  Why? You should be looking in to the mirror, hair tucked back with a headband and cleansing all the way in to you hairline, neck, and to the ears.  The frequent break outs I see lately can be reduced with looking at yourself in the mirror and massaging the cleanser for one minute all over your face and neck.  You are missing the sides of your nose, in to the hairline, and just basically everywhere!

We are in a rush in the morning.  We glob on the cleanser and really miss what the cleanser needs to do.  Take your time with this step.  I promise you will see and feel a difference.  Even breaking down how many seconds on each part of your face will help.  Forehead, temples, and nose = 20 seconds.  Upper lip, chin, under chin and neck = 20 seconds.  Each cheek = 10 seconds.

For my ladies who are wearing a full face of make up - Cleanse twice! Yes! Yes!  I double cleanse all my guests with every facial.  Many times, one go round isn't enough.  Considering what your skin is collecting through the day, it would benefit you with a double cleanse.  The second time around you don't have to use the same amount of cleanser as the first time.

Taking a few extra moments to put on your headband, remove your eye make up, cleanse your skin properly will make for happy, healthy, skin.  Nightly!
