Skin and Your Every Day Environment. Four Tips for Better Care.

Have you been feeling a bit dried out lately? Even inside your nostrils? How about feeling oily and congested at the end of a work day? Let's take note of your work environment and or every day surroundings.

Do you work from home? Where is your work space located? Near the furnace vent? In a small room with the door closed? Working from home during the winter months can cause our skin to become even more dried out, especially if your work station is near where your heat is coming out.   My laptop is at the kitchen table and under my chair is the vent.  I couldn't figure out why the inside of my nose was so dry and irritated.  As soon as I moved, it went away.

Purchasing a reputable humidifier may help as well.  A humidifier will pump moisture in the air, and aid in repairing barrier damage to your skin.  Once the air has enough humidity, your skin will stop acting like a moisture magnet.

If you work in an office where do you sit? Near the entrance and exit? If the door is constantly opening and closing, the dust is stirring and sticking to everything. You may at times feel as if your face is coated by the end of the day.  Cleanse your face as soon as you get home.  Think of what your skin collects during the day.

We also subconsciously touch our faces all day long.  Guilty!  It can be a hard habit to break.  Write yourself a post-it and stick it to your laptop :-)   Hands free from the face!

I know no one wants to hear this, but turn down the temperature in your shower.  Hot water sucks the essential oils our of our skin.

Of course also come in for a facial service and consult.  Helping you tweak a few things at home will provide you with the right puzzle piece so we can Pro-Age.  I have more tips and tricks in my tool belt.  Always turn to us professional licensed estheticians for guidance and questions.
