A Cheat Sheet for Winter Skin Fixes..

Our skin is always telling us something.  Ever notice how after exercising you  break out on your chest or back?  Your moisture wicking shirt promised to stave off dirt and sweat with some kind of technology that I can't explain.  Taking it off as soon as possible after working out and showering will reduce the length of time you are causing friction between the fabric and your skin.

~Are you a paper pusher? ;-) Paper rubs the moisture out of your hands and cuticles.  Cardboard too.  My little trick here is to purchase a quality lip balm or lip soother and apply it on to my cuticles right after I wash my hands.  Soothes and locks in the moisture.

~Sunburned ears from snowboarding without sunscreen? Brew a bag of chamomile tea, cool, apply to the ears to calm the inflammation.

~Turn down the shower temp! Hot water strips your skin of the essential oils it needs. I know I know.. hot showers feels so good in the morning.

~Rough/dry knees or backs of legs? Mix half a cup of table sugar with lemon juice.  Dry scrub a little bit...rinse then shower.  Smooth knees and elbows.

~Dry areas on your face? Invest in a quality serum or night time hydrating mask for spot treatment or all over help.  Worth the money as the serum has a more concentrated property of peptides to do its best work over night.  Beauty sleep!

~Are you now working from home at the kitchen table, and near the furnace vent? As the warm air blows out and on to your skin you may be feeling the effects of drier skin, even the inside of your nose may feel it.

~Your cleanser shouldn't make you frantically reach for the moisturizer after using.  This is a clear indication your cleanser is not Ph balanced for your skin type.  Season change is also a good time to change your cleanser and moisturizer.
